Responsible sourcing is becoming a central focus for retailers as a way to strengthen their appeal to consumers while addressing expectations from investors and regulators. This includes de-linking their supply chains from deforestation, natural ecosystem conversion, and human rights abuses. Yet retailers and other commodity buyers often sit far from where food and forest products originate, making it harder to achieve responsible supply chains.
This webcast will focus on how retailers and their suppliers can overcome the challenges posed by long and complex supply chains to achieve responsible sourcing using the Accountability Framework. It will also share tangible examples of how companies can design responsible sourcing approaches and put their policies into practice across their entire businesses.
Speakers will discuss how companies can:
Determine which product categories and supply chains to prioritize
Integrate corporate functions to set teams up for success
Embed responsible supply chain policies in purchasing decisions
Design effective implementation systems and engage suppliers
Assess and manage supplier performance against the buyer’s policies
